Responsible for database management and program coordination. Currently migrating student researcher records from flat database into a relational database using Microsoft Access, leveraging its SQL query capabilities to clean and evaluate records. Contributes to various undergraduate research initiatives by maintaining our program evaluation survey database, highlighting quantitative/qualitative in program evaluations through various reports and presentations, and assisting with planning major events like Undergraduate Research Week and the Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellows Summer Writing Research and Training and Program.
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF LOS ANGELES (STUDYLA) LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY
Designed and implemented reports including processing data into publication-ready visualizations, charts, and tables; oversaw report template creation and maintenance; and trained other researchers to perform these tasks. Managed media and communications, including interfacing with StudyLA’s various public, private, academic, and news media partners; developed and maintained StudyLa’s multimedia and research content; ensured visual and editorial unity across StudyLA’s print, web, and audio visual materials; and archived multimedia content online. Served as StudyLA’s special events coordinator, promoted, planned, and executed StudyLA activities, projects, and events, including lectures, forums, keynotes, research studies, and conferences. Mentored undergraduate researchers and teaches them to perform above tasks.
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF LOS ANGELES (STUDYLA) LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY
Provided assistance to StudyLA’s Director and Associate Director and served as the research institute’s secretary and scheduler. Organized work study students, supported special events, assisted with presentation and teaching duties, and provided light design work for various Center flyers, pamphlets, presentations, and publications. Maintained and updated StudyLA’s audiovisual archives and began promoting them on social media.
LIBRARY ASSISTANT DAVIDSON LIBRARY UC SANTA BARBARA
Served as the Special Collections Audio Digitization lab team leader; trained and supervised staff to perform various audiovisual digitization and archiving duties. Assisted in cataloguing and managing the Government Publications library collection in addition to teaching and supervising student assistants to perform these duties. Served as the Government Publications front desk clerk assisting clients with various research tasks including microformat digitization units and navigating virtual archives.
KJUC MANAGER KCSB-FM UC SANTA BARBARA
Deployed quarterly recruitment and training program for students and community members interested in public radio broadcast. Planned, developed, and executed quarter-long training regimen that taught the basics of FM radio broadcast. Reviewed and assessed trainee’s production skills and provided ongoing feedback. Facilitated radio production proficiency exam at the end of quarterly training programs.
